Happy Birthday LOTRO
So I play this game called Lord of the Rings Online and it is fast approaching it's 6th Birthday. To celebrate this event, my friend put together an awesome video capturing the atmosphere and emotions of this epic game. It stars many people, including my friends and ME!! - hehe. But I won't tell you any more about it as I think the video will speak for itself, so without further ado, I give you, Happy Birthday LOTRO :) *claps and cheers*

Dr Who revisited
This year marks a very special date in may peoples calendars, the 50th anniversary of Dr Who!! And I have to admit I am uber excited by the news that ****SPOILER ALERT**** David Tennant will return to our screens as the tenth Doctor :)
I wrote a review on Dr Who some time ago now, but I have removed it as I want to do more than that in the lead up to the big one later this year, so I want to go back to the start, looking at the various incarnations of the Time Lord, the different Tardis's used throughout the show, even the differences in sonic screwdrivers....the companions....the journies, spin-offs and of course the aliens.....First off, I am not a sci-fi nerd....I am just a fan of Dr Who and so my posts will not be in depth or for that matter may not be 100% accurate, but I will do my best to introduce new people to the world of Dr Who, as well as take the chance to remind some current fans of journies past with the Doctor :)
So watch out for further posts on this topic as we delve into the amazing world of Dr Who, but until then, why not enjoy this little teaser video created by Vortex Guy of what is coming your way :)

Prog on with Prog & Roll
Greeting bloggers and true believers!! it is I...back for some more blogging fun after a very long period away. I wish I could say that I was busy doing something nice, but unfortunately I cannot, the fact is I just got a little out of the habbit of posting things here, but I want to get back to it again and have some nice ideas for future posts. But first, I want to bring to your attention something that you might enjoy....
Two friends of mine host a weekly radio show entitled Prog & Roll. This takes place on Sundays between 8pm and 10pm GMT and for anyone who enjoys some nice music and fun, you should tune it and give it a listen. The type of music they play is prog-orientated but they use different kinds and types of bands including metal and FOLK!! The show is broadcast live on a Greek internet radio station but they mix both Greek and English during their show, so you always have a "general" idea of what is going on :D
They have a little game running each week where they ask listeners to vote on the songs that they play on a scale from 1-10 and the songs with the highest scores are then put together at the end of the month to pick a song of the month. As well as this, each week they introduce a theme for the style of songs that they play. For example, they recently had a show with 4 different themes in it, metal, artists that made a solo career, the UK progressive rock scene and finally Krautrock and German progressive rock, such a diverse collection of songs!!! Next week they will dedicate an hour to Fantasy fiction music with a touch of prog...so whether you are into movies, games or fantasy fiction in general, there might be something there for you :)
There is also a lot of fun to be had in the chat box that is available on the radio show's website. Usually this is filled with "Greeklish" (a simple form of the Greek language which make me doubt they even understand what they are saying half of the time in there own native language :P LOL) but usually some nice simple english as well :)
Don't be worrying if you are not familiar with the genre, cause until I started listening to their show, I had never really heard of prog-rock myself. And although not everything that they play is my cup of tea (yeah I have been known to give songs a 1 or 2 vote), I do find the show quite educational as they not only play the music, but give some background to the bands and songs.
And as if all that was not enough to entice you there, if you visit, there is a chance that you might bump into some famous folk who also listen to their show. Most recently, members of the band Galahad have joined us in the chat box to take part in the banter that we have, grade some songs based on there knowledge of music and share with us some nice anecdotes about their own personal experiences.
So there you have it, Prog & Roll, Sunday from 8-10pm and all you need to do is click on this link and hit play!!! Just in Case Radio
